DESIGN / PURPOSE

Application and design rationale

Distance vision first

FarMax is described as Hard; its priorities differ from Soft designs. Personalisation is optional and must be specified when ordering.

Design mechanism and features

Hard profile and viewing-zone priorities

FarMax is Hard. Its description prioritises distance/near zones and concentrates peripheral-astigmatism changes in a tighter area around the corridor. Width-increase claims without comparison conditions do not guarantee results for every order.

Optional personalisation

Unlike models with Personalization: Yes, FarMax personalisation is optional. In the personalised configuration, frame-position data is added to the order. DuraTrace, optional DuraBase and Core Inset are mentioned.

Choosing corridor length

NRP options are listed separately as 12, 13, 15 and 17 mm. Do not replace these four choices with a continuous range or IntroMax options.

ENGINEERED FOR VISION

Technologies in this design

DuraTrace
Ray-tracing calculations and optical-aberration optimisation in surface design.
DuraBase Optional
Nominal-power calculations; also described as Nominal Power in the sources.
Core Inset
Standard automatic inset for near-zone positioning, as specified in the product table.
POSITION OF WEAR

Measure before manufacture

Required parameters vary by design and must be recorded by a professional.

Monocular PD
Each eye's pupillary distance is recorded separately to align horizontal lens positioning with the visual axis.
Fitting Height
Fitting height is recorded on the adjusted frame in the natural position of wear; the required near zone must also fit within the frame.
BVD
Distance from the rear lens surface to the corneal apex; relevant to power-compensation calculations in personalised models.
Pantoscopic Angle
The frame's vertical tilt in the position of wear must be measured; example values are not substitutes for measurement.
Wrap Angle
The horizontal curvature of the frame relative to the face, describing lens positioning.
Box A
Horizontal width of the frame opening in the boxing system.
Box B
Vertical height of the frame opening in the boxing system.
DBL
Distance between the two lens boxes at the frame bridge.
ED
Effective diameter: twice the greatest distance from the boxing centre to the lens-shape edge, used for blank selection and edging calculations.

Design-specific inputs

  • Core Inset (0–4 mm): automatic near-focus shift according to the prescription and reading distance.
  • Corridor Selection: manual or automatic NRP depth selection at 12, 13, 15 or 17 mm according to frame form and viewing behaviour.
Monocular pupillary distance

Monocular pupillary distance

For aligning the lens centre with each eye's visual axis.

Fitting height

Fitting height

Vertical pupil position relative to the frame in the position of wear.

Back vertex distance

Back vertex distance

One of the inputs describing the actual position of wear.

These are basic fitting parameters; additional inputs and the level of personalisation are specified for each model.
